I've been a loyal customer of this place for over 8 years. About a month ago, we witnessed a staff member (she said her name is Millie - but not sure) display very rude comments to some customers in the store. Since it was like the 2nd time I saw her there I said nothing because I thought she was just having a bad day.
When I arrived, my clothes were packed into a plastic bag. I asked if I could please put the clothes in the dryer running and pick it up in the morning. She stated the machines were off and she could not turn them back on. However, I saw a friend there who was getting ready to pull her clothes out of the machine and offered that I could utilize her remaining time - which was 45 minutes. I asked staff if I could just leave it running and return at opening hours. She stated a hesitant no stating she had to talk to the manager. She apparently got on the phone with the manager (named Mark based on what she said. She was adamant about not being allowed to have clothes left overnight in the machine. I then asked if I could speak to the manager who was on the phone. He supposedly refused saying he was sleeping(based on what she said).
But I didn't get that. I got a threat and a rude attitude. I'm greatly disappointed that I was treated that way. Maybe additional customer service training would be useful. I do NOT plan on returning. And neither are my 2 friends that were washing clothes there.
Then today I heard her telling a customer how much she did not like being there. (I can understand why but that's not good 'on the floor' conversation even if she hates her job.
"I'm sorry we cannot accommodate your needs at this time. Please give me your phone number and I'll have the manager call you tomorrow during business hours."
Great place! Extremely clean! The people who work there are super helpful & always help me with anything I need. Highly recommended!
My problem with what occurred is how the problem/conflict resolution was handled. The worker was rude and condescending. She walked away when we were mid-sentence. She then said I'll have to call the police. I thought that was a bizarre jump of events since I was not raising my voice nor refusing to leave. In all honesty, she could have said the following:
I made a big mistake and forgot one of our loads in the washer. I noticed when I was putting away the laundry as I got home. So I called the laundromat a day staff member said I could pick it up in 10 minutes. I decided to go right away.
I absolutely love this place !! Its clean, quiet and the staff is friendly and helpful !! I recently lost my laundry card and while looking for it the manager noticed. He immediately asked what was the last machine used, identified the card (canceled it out) and transferred the remaining balance to a new card. I was so impressed.. I swear this place doesn't disappoint ! Thanks Laundry Room for the Great Customer Service !!!
So my problem is not that they were unwilling to accommodate my needs as a customer. I understand some things are put in place to appropriately run a business.
I have been doing my laundry here for over 1 year now. I find the staff are generally friendly and accommodating. I particularly really like Rose. She's a super friendly and helpful employee. She's always professional and forever with a smile on her face. One time I had my clothes washed here by Rose and she did such awesome job that i gave her a 30 percent tip because I was very satisfied. I hope the owner hire more employees like Rose. She's an exceptional employee!
Always clean. Good solid machines. Friendly staff.
